MyBook is the digital e-learning platform provided by the publisher "Egea", which allows students to borrow 23 textbooks (as of February 19, 2024) included in the exam programs. Further textbooks may be added throughout the year.

The collection includes textbooks only available in Italian, in the fields of economics, social sciences, technology and digital culture, management, statistics, international relations and finance.

The platform allows students to consult the resources in two different ways: 

  • Online - the platform has been enhanced for Chrome, but other browsers are operable. 
  • Offline – it is necessary to download the Digitalbook app for Windows, macOS, iOS, Android. The app is available for notebooks, tablets and smartphones.

 

Loan service methods

Students may borrow and consultfor a maximum of four weeks, a digital copy of a book. Books can be returned early.

It is not permitted to extend the loan, but it is possible to borrow the same title again 3 days (72 hours) after the return/expiration of the loan.

Each user may borrow up to 2 texts at a time and each book can be borrowed by a maximum of 10 users at the same time.

 

To access the digital lending service, please follow the instructions below:

  • go to https://digitabook.egeaonline.it/
  • select the University of Bologna from the list of available institutions;
  • click on "Accedi con IDEM", then enter the institutional credentials (@studio.unibo.it);
  • in the “Prestiti/Lending” section it is possibile to view the titles available for loan or search by title or author in the search bar at the top;
  • click on “Prendi in prestito/Borrow” to borrow the digital book. At the top right, it is possible to see the number of loans available. 
  • in the  “I miei Libri/My Books” section, on the top left, it is possible to see all the borrowed titles and return them clicking on “Rendi/Return”;
  • if all the copies are borrowed, the user will be notified via e-mail as soon as the title becomes available again.

 

Authorized use:

  • consult the textbooks in HTML format, highlight texts, cut out extracts, add bookmarks, insert notes and comments that will also be available in subsequent accesses to the title, both on the offline and the online version;
  • activate other accessibility options: speech synthesis, background customization, font and character size and line spacing;
  • it is not possible to print, copy and paste.
