Proxy: remote access to AlmaRE
The Proxy service provides access to electronic resources reserved for the University of Bologna's institutional users (lecturers, students, technical and administrative staff, research fellows, PhD students, accredited collaborators, retired staff, alumni, etc.) from off the University Wi-Fi network.
AlmaStart: the University of Bologna's discovery tool
AlmaStart is the University discovery tool, a powerful tool that with a single search allows users to find the resources available in the Bologna Library System libraries, in the AlmaRE and AlmaDL Collections.
Search for electronic collections
Through the Search Collections mask of AlmaStart, it is possible to search by keywords the databases, the collections of e-books, e-journals and reference works subscribed by the University of Bologna or selected from those freely available on the web.
A-link: link resolver
A-link is the University of Bologna's link resolver. The A-link "button" in the record of a document found, for example, in GoogleScholar, a database, a library or an editorial catalogue etc., allows users to check whether the document of interest has been subscribed to by the University and whether it is possible to access its full text and/or other services linked to it.
Tatooweb: access to databases on CDs and DVDs
Tatooweb is a web-based access service to databases acquired on CD-ROM or DVD by the University of Bologna's libraries. You must have institutional credentials to access Tatooweb.
Locklizard Platform
The University has acquired a platform (Locklizard) for online and offline reading of texts to supplement the availability of publishers who are joining the platform and who do not have their own technological platform.
Extended access to AlmaRE Collections for non-institutional users
AlmaRE negotiates with publishers and providers clauses enabling access to the AlmaRE Collections (databases, e-journals and e-books subscribed by the University) for certain categories of non-institutional users such as ex- students who have obtained an undergraduate degree at the University (alumni) and the retired teaching and non-teaching staff of the University. The service aims to enhance the investment of the University on the e-resources acquired for research, education and third mission.

Bibliographic Management Softwares
Bibliographic management software makes the storage, management and reuse of bibliographic references more efficient in order to facilitate the creation of bibliographies and the insertion of citations in academic texts such as theses, articles and essays. AlmaRE deals with the requests for trials and quotations of commercial products associated with user licences of already subscribed resources. Moreover, AlmaRE has prepared some recommendations concerning the most used free products.

AlmaRE has set up a dedicated mailbox for all doubts, requests and problems encountered by users regarding its collections and services. It also provides guides on frequently asked questions.
