ABC

" Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning. "

(ACRL, Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education, 2016).

To manage the exponential growth of information, students must be properly trained on the effective and mindful use of the potential represented by the large amount of library resources made available to them .
The high-cost information resources (databases, journals, e-books ...), acquired by the University and managed by the libraries can greatly contribute to the quality of learning if enhanced through specific training actions.
For this reason the University of Bologna has included a specific training on Information Literacy, within the Transferable Skills Project.
