Since 2003, the University of Bologna has been providing qualified personnel and the technological infrastructure to preserve and share online unpublished scientific production known as grey literature (e.g. preprints, technical reports, conference presentations, working papers) through the AMS Acta service.

The service is aimed at teachers, researchers, PhD students, research collaborators and technical-administrative staff of the University who are authors or co-authors of an unpublished research contribution.

AMS Acta allows authors to disseminate their scientific production online according to the principles of Open Access, by implementing licences that favour discovery, study and sharing of contributions, including Creative Commons licences.

AlmaDL guarantees secure and reliable access to contributions, ensures their long-term preservation, tracking, retrieval and citability online through persistent identifiers.

The AMS Acta archive is identified by ISSN 2038-7954.
